Faculty of Engineering UKWMS becomes one of the partners for Southbound Science and Technology Cooperation in NSTC Project
Once again, Faculty of Engineering UKWMS becomes partner for the New Southbound Science and Technology Cooperation, funded by NSTC, and organized through the Taiwan - Indonesia Science and Technology Innovation Center (TI-STIC). This cooperation has 4 main projects, including (1) promoting regional academic cooperation, (2) connect international science park, (3) promote talent exchange and cultivation, and (4) build international collaboration platform. Through this TI-STIC which is jointy established between 3 universities (Taiwan Tech, ITS and UKWMS), we promote the substantive, transnational, cross-discipline collaborations, and exchange in technology.

In this collaboration, the focus is mostly on the environmental engineering where we do not see electronic wastes, plastic wastes, and ashes, as literal wastes but as great chances for development. Innovations in utilizing these industrial wastes for many applications may reduce their adverse effects, and at the same time, turn it to assets. This also support the two SDGs promoted by UKWMS, SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure) and SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production).
